Frequently Asked Questions If your question is not answered below, send us an email at info@wikitestprep.org. Should I use WikiTestPrep instead of commercial products such as Kaplan™ QBank or USMLEWorld? Given the considerable emphasis we place on question quality and relevance to the exam, our database is still quite small. We thus recommend that you use WikiTestPrep as a supplement, rather than a replacement, to other test prep services. However, we recommend that you use our site first in your preparation because our questions should be most similar to those on the exam and we have no 1 month vs. 6 month subscription restrictions. How does WikiTestPrep ensure accuracy in its questions? Question quality is our highest priority. Our editorial panel meets several times a semester to undergo rigorous training on question writing and style. We draw from numerous sources to verify questions and when necessary, we consult our faculty at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Also, we spend a great deal of time writing and revising explanations, making sure that we cover both correct and incorrect answer choices. This way, we maximize the value you obtain from every question. Is WikiTestPrep really free? Absolutely. If you like our service, we ask that you make a small donation. Your generosity allows us to cover our annual operating costs (maintenance, editorial meetings, administration, etc.) and continue the site for others to use. WikiTestPrep is a 501(c)3 non-profit registered in the State of New York. All donations are tax-deductible. From where does WikiTestPrep acquire its questions? We rely on students to contribute questions, which are subsequently revised and approved by the editorial board. Through this unique approach, WikiTestPrep provides students with an evolving data bank of questions that is highly reflective of the exam. Does WikiTestPrep conflict with the USMLE's ethics and copyright policies? WikiTestPrep believes that the best people to write questions are students who have taken the exam, not because they can regurgitate questions--a violation of USMLE's ethics and copyright policy--but because they are the most familiar with the testing style, the scope of the content, and the type of concepts tested. As stated in our Terms and Conditions, WikiTestPrep emphatically forbids the submission of copyrighted material. We rely on our users to exercise proper respect for copyright laws. Submitting content that infringes upon others' copyrights threatens our objective of building a test preparation resource that is freely accessible to all medical students. |
